very very unfortunately, my dobermann is also having neurological problem! he is getting terrible epilepsy these days! he is just 3 yrs old. just today, he fell twice! i rushed him to the vet and he said 'nothing can be done to stop it. you should manage it with some tablets' he was such a brave and nice dobermann! however, i'm there for him till his or my last breath. i dunno what else is waiting to attack him.. but i hope to have this thing healed!

we have to do something.. usually i don't get too emotional n sentimental.. but in this case, i do.. some way has to be there..

i think the following methods can straighten this issue..

a club has to be organized. the purpose of the club should be to test dogs thoroughly and give a fitness certificate if the dog is fit enough to breed. otherwise, it should be neutered or not bred. and that certificate should be held in high regard and dog buyers should be made aware that they have to buy the puppy only if both the parents have the fitness certificate.. if we can at least start up with this, may be in future, dogs won;t suffer like today's dogs..

we should voice against show standards and demand a revolution in it! we no longer want sick dogs! we no longer want sick show dogs! a healthier stray dog would do much better! we should voice this opinion in large numbers to make a difference!

ya thts right Arun..after dog has come to our home it becomes part of our family!

And so it is very bad and sad too if our dog which we love so much gets diseases like these...

I felt so sad about your dob... bro , dont worry he will be fine soon... trust god have faith!

Yes i agree with this that there should be some organisation or club should be formed specfically for checking the dogs health as wht told by arun.
It will not only checks the health dogs used in breeding but with this we will get quality pups too.

i'll see to it that the dogs which we breed would undergo thorough medical tests, checking its fitness in every corner before it is bred. i'll have it done every year! if something even seems to be wrong, i won;t breed that dog.
