Indian Pariah is one of the oldest breed of dogs.. they are found in their true form in Villages..... (in cities its diluted) they are known for their survival instinct and tough demeanor and uncanny common sense. when raised in a home, but individual temperaments vary a lot!..they are one of the few dogs who can survive with out proper food ( in the sense they scavenge). They usually live in packs, and are found where there is availability of food..
they are very healthy and sturdy! their height ranger from 20 - 24" however, slightly taller and shorter specimens can be encountered..
they weigh around 20 - 25 kilos.. (individuals vary.. this is just an average!)
as guard dogs, they do well, but it again depends on individuals! most of them tend to be very staunch guard dogs while others hardly care. it depends on their past experiences and the way they were brought up and parents. but should the threat present itself, they will recognize and protect what they hold dear.
